the funkiest kitchen

The funkiest kitchen is an interactive art project which is done by Mustafa Bagdatli and Andrew Jordan.

This interesting kitchen includes secret sounds and visuals. Our initial point is creating a whole body interaction. We decided to work on one person band with whole body. So, we come up with an idea of, using some range sensors and creating sounds with them, with this absurd physical shape.

This interactive piece inclueds, servo motors, solenoids, IR range sensors, sonar sensor, shaker, pump, hydrophone, and projection.

When user pases infront of the sink, a sonar sensor will notice the user and soap dispenser hits the faucet and, kitchen will take attention of the user. When user get close to it, he will see the rocking shoes and steps on them. Then starts to interacting via sensors or analog instruments. Also, there are some interesting visiuals projecting on water surface in sink.

Our idea is using analog and digital interaction together, and letting user interact with the piece in different ways by using whole body.
